The Facebook team is indeed doing awesome things. Making the brand acceptable to more and more people as their user base keep growing at an astonishing rate every passing day.
With the introduction of features like video calls, live stream, etc in the beginning of the year helping users reach out to family, friends and business associates in ways never thought before, it’s really interesting that Facebook is trying to wrap the year up with an immense implementation testing against next year with the “LIVE AUDIO” streaming service.
Facebook recently began testing a Live Audio streaming service that lets a select group of publishers broadcast audio messages on its popular social network, with plans to open it up to all of its users next year.
The Live Audio service could bring content like podcasts into Facebook News Feeds to listeners, which could be useful for the social network users in low-connectivity areas to broadcast more data-efficient media. Listeners can also ask questions and leave reactions in real-time during broadcasts.
The concept was further explained:
‘‘From interviews to book readings, we’re excited about the layer of interactivity that Live Audio brings to both the broadcaster and listener. Just as with a live video on Facebook, listeners can discover live audio content in News Feed, ask questions and leave reactions in real time during the broadcast, and easily share with their friends.’’
Facebook is in partnership with BBC World Service, book publisher HarperCollins, British talk radio station LBC, authors Adam Grant and Brit to test the live audio .
Next year 2017 is really going to be a year full of awesomeness.
